I remembered at the last minute to take Strat's pic in his choral outfit. We were on our way out and I took his pic as he was getting in the car, then I made him come back in so I could take his pic in front of the Christmas tree. The concert was very short since the high school didn't perform. They are getting ready for a musical, so it was just the elementary school and the junior high. They sounded good!

A boy and his pet

I wanted to honor the age-old experience of a child having a pet. It is a wonderful part of growing up, and it is important to me that the boys experience it. So, here are a few pics of the boys with animals.

Here is Molly the crazy big dog watching the boys play a game. She is probably sitting and thinking of a way to get in the middle of things. ha

Boys and bugs! Need I say more?? Not really a pet, but an important part of being a little boy.

Petting Millie. Millie was a stray that we saw across the street one day. Jim wanted to give her some food and water because she was SO very skinny, so he and the boys took a couple of disposable bowls across the street. It wasn't long before she was a member of the family, but she was always a little skittish about being petted. The only one who could really get close to her touch-wise was Strat. She seemed to love him the best.

Here is Jack petting a stray that was in our yard. Jim was afraid he would be hit by a car, so we put him in the back fence (while we still had one). Jim called the owners number on the dog tag and they came to get him.

See the soccer blog for more pics. This was a fun day. A very warm day for December, although it was a bit windy. Nonetheless, fun!

Jack is a coach now!

Jack has a little notebook that he keeps all of his football team stats in. It has sections for his team roster, stats, offensive plays, defensive plays, ets. He was outside the other day with Chase and Strat, putting them through the plays. I took some pics because Jim and I thought he looked such the part!

Here is Jack in the front with Ethan, another teammate. Chase is behind them, as a substitute. Strat is sitting with them during this break, but he did not participate. Mamo and Papo are in the background.

Chase is finally at the front to answer questions again. And he never misses a photo opp. Oddly enough, the boys on the team were much more willing to substitute for one another. The two girls on the team had to be hog-tied to get off that front row. One girl, the captain, didn't sub at all. Maybe she was not supposed to...

Jack and Chase are baseball fans!

Jack and Chase went to Aunt Diner's and Uncle Jackie's to spend the night, and go to a Huntsville Stars baseball game. The Huntsville Stars are a minor league team from the Milwaukee Brewers. They got autographs and had a great time. Jack is going to keep a scrapbook of the games that he goes to. Uncle Jackie said that maybe next season, they can all go to an Atlanta Braves game. FUN!

When they got home, they both decked out in their "uniforms" and went outside to play. These are pics from that.

A look to the future?

Jack and Chase have a company called C&J Associates. They started doing odd jobs around the house, yard work, etc. They have since expanded to include newspaper service (which seems a bit sporadic, but I think they are working on the frequency of publication), a local newscast (VERY local) and a diner. What a way to diversify! Be sure to check out their videos at the You Tube link on the home page, left-hand side. You'll be glad you did!
